Tribute to Mummy Boat

Mummy Boat was not just a name; she was a presence, a force, a comforting shade in the heat of the day.

At a time when many did not understand the importance of protecting our rivers and water bodies, she rose with boldness and spoke with a mother’s heart.

She stood firm when neither talking about the environment nor doing so was popular or convenient.

Ghana has lost a rare gem, one of the true mothers of our land.

She was a mother in every sense of the word: loving, compassionate, but also courageous and principled.

In a field dominated by men, she did not shrink.

Instead, she stepped forward, lifted her voice and encouraged women across the nation to rise and defend what God has given us: our water, our rivers, our future.

Playback

Through television advertisements, she reminded us time and again that whenever water becomes scarce, it is women and children who suffer most.

Her message was simple, truthful and rooted in her deep concern for every Ghanaian home.

Today, when we look at our rivers and see the devastation, her voice still echoes strong, clear and almost prophetic.

It calls all of us leaders, policymakers, opinion shapers, environmentalists, mothers, fathers and our youth to protect our water bodies.

Environmental

Her message was not just environmental; it was about life, dignity and survival.

Mummy Boat served as a proud and dedicated member of the Friends of Rivers and Water Bodies.

She gave her time, her energy and her heart to this cause.

She lived what she preached.

She believed that protecting water was protecting humanity.

And she gave everything she had to ensure that future generations would inherit something better.

Mummy Boat, you have indeed fought a good fight.

You have run your race with honour.

Your good works will continue to speak for you.

Your voice will never be forgotten.
