University of Leicester to hold professorial lecture tomorrow

The University of Leicester and its Ghana Alumni Chapter, in partnership with the British Council Ghana, will hold a  professorial lecture and networking cocktail reception in Accra.

A statement issued in Accra said “the President of the University of Leicester, UK, Alumni Ghana Chapter, Dr Annie Babah-Alargi, welcomes UK university Alumni and professional bodies as well as the business communities and prospective students of the University of Leicester to the event on Thursday”.

Opportunity

The statement said: “A UK education provides an opportunity for higher quality learning that enhances one’s life and career and creates a viable investment for the future.

The  lecture promotes continuous learning and networking of UK alumni students in Ghana and ultimately establishes a UK Alumni Association that fosters partnerships and encourages knowledge sharing among members of the various alumni groups”.

It said  the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, would attend the programme as the special guest of honour.

Theme

The statement added that speakers on the theme: “The Importance of Education in the Development of Human Capital and a Country’s Economy” and “Ethical Behaviours and Conduct in Business and Country Development”, are: Prof. Noel Tagoe, CEO of SandhillsAdvisory Services; and Dr Irene Stella Agyenim Boateng, Vice-Chairperson of Public Service Commission.

The ceremony, which will be held tomorrow, at the British Council, Accra will be chaired by Dr Ellen Hagan, Founder, L’AINE Services Limited and Co-Founder of Legacy Girls College.
