Uuter Dery, Ayisi Addo, Habib Logoh disappointed over removal
The lawyer of the three justices of the High Court who have been removed from the bench of the High Court has expressed disappointment with the decision; considering that they were still challenging their suspension at the ECOWAS Court.
Speaking to Graphic Online, Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, counsel for the dismissed judges said his clients never appeared before the Chief Justice’s Committee that looked into the allegations of bribery and corruption levelled against them by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
“Justices Logoh, Dery and Ayisi Addo have received the news of their removal from office by President with great disappointment. This is because their case at the ECOWAS Court has been scheduled for hearing on the 23rd of January 2019.”

“They remain focused on their case at the ECOWAS Court in which Ghana is fully represented by the office of the Attorney General.”
“They intend to vindicate their rights at the ECOWAS Court and will not rest until their case has been heard to a logical conclusion and Justice delivered.”
“It is important to note that during this period that their case has been pending before the court they have not been given any opportunity to appear before any committee,” he told Graphic Online.

Judicial Corruption: Judge sues CJ for "unlawful" dismissal
President Akufo-Addo on Sunday announced the removal of Mr Ayisi Addo, Mr Uuter Paul Dery and Mr Mustapha Habib Logoh from the High Court bench on grounds of bribery and corruption.
Their removal was based on recommendations by the Chief Justice’s Committee that concluded that their conduct amounted to a criminal offence under the Criminal Offences Act, 1960, (Act 29) (as amended).
Accordingly, President Akufo-Addo has directed that a copy of the Committee's report be submitted to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for the requisite action to be taken.
