The GH¢600,000 project, which initially started as a self-help initiative a year ago, was later supported immensely by the First Atlantic Bank.

The Board Chairman of the bank, Amarquaye Armar, said at the inauguration that the edifice did not only signify First Atlantic Bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility but also to its enduring partnership with the communities it served.

He pointed out that healthcare was a cornerstone of a thriving community; and was essential for the wellbeing and productivity of individuals and overall development of any community.

“We recognise that access to quality healthcare is not just a necessity but also a fundamental human right,” Mr Armar added. He said the staff quarters was in response to the growing population of Ziavi, which required onsite accommodation for the staff of the health centre.

“Our goal is to ensure that the staff of Ziavi Health Centre will have a comfortable place of abode to enable them to offer good healthcare services for the benefit of the people,” the board chairman said.

He maintained that the overriding aim of First Atlantic Bank was to enhance access to health and education for women and children. “So, let this facility symbolise our shared commitment to the health and prosperity of the Ziavi community,” Mr Armar said.

MCE

The Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Divine Bosson, commended the people of Ziavi for their development initiatives, saying the staff quarters had lifted the area to greater heights.

He said the support from First Atlantic Bank was very touching and timely, adding that the opening of a branch of the Bank in Ho would be a step in the right direction. Mr Bosson entreated the staff of the health centre and people of the community to ensure good maintenance of the quarters.

The Municipal Director of Health Services, Perfect Titiati, said the facility was a great contribution to the provision of quality healthcare to the people.
