GNFS averts disaster after fuel truck crash at Amanase filling station

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has averted a potential disaster after a fuel truck veered off the road and crashed near the BENAS Filling Station at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region due to a brake failure.

In a statement, the Service said the Suhum Fire Station responded swiftly to the emergency call, with a crew arriving at the scene within minutes.

The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m., and firefighters were able to contain the fuel spill using foam and cooling techniques, successfully preventing a possible explosion.
