Golden Tulip Accra gives to charity

Golden Tulip Accra has donated a quantity of  linen to the Weija Leprosarium and SOS Children’s Village.

Members of the management of the hotel led by the Deputy General Manager, Mr. Francis Deyegbe, first made a presentation of  bed sheets, pillow cases, towels and duvets to the Weija Leprosarium in Accra.

The items were received on behalf of the Leprosarium by Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, Chairman of the Lepers Aid Committee.

Handing over the items, Mr. Deyegbe noted that the donation was a regular support the hotel offered to the needy “who are the most vulnerable in the society”, and congratulated the leaders of the Leprosarium on their good work in making the lives of the inmates comfortable.

Golden Tulip Accra, he said,  would continue to give care and support to the less privileged in the society through its corporate social responsibility programmes and urged other corporate bodies to follow suit and support the welfare of the needy.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Leprosarium, Rev. Father Campbell acknowledged the  support by Golden Tulip Accra to the Leprosarium over the years and expressed gratitude to the hotel.

“We are grateful for the wonderful donation, especially the encouragement and support you have given us over the years,” he said

The hotel later made a similar donation to the Tema SOS children’s village.

The items were presented by Mrs. Sylvia Yemoh, Executive Housekeeper and received on behalf of the children by Mr. Isaac Ackon, Director of the Village.  Mr. Ackon thanked the hotel for supporting the needy and called on other corporate organisations to emulate the Golden Tulip Accra example.
