GRIDCo workers demonstrate over debts owed company

Workers of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) hit the streets Tuesday to protest huge debts owed the company by ECG, VALCO, PDS and NEDCO.
Clad in red and black attires, the workers converged at the Black Star Square in Accra and marched to the Ministry of Finance and ECG.
The workers in November withdrew all emergency services to push the government to settle debt owed the company.

According to the Senior Staff and the Divisional Union of GRIDCo, ECG and NEDCo owe about GH₵607 million and GH₵177 million respectively while VALCO and PDS owe over US$32 million and GH₵94 million respectively.
