Health Ministry's recruitment portal for advertised mop-up 'disabled' on day it should open for applicants
The Ministry of Health on May 22, 2026 announced it was going to organise a mop-up exercise for the validation and posting of health professionals as part of an ongoing recruitment process for the health sector.
The ministry gave May 21 to May 25 for the updating of personal profile, including passport size picture for those who have not done that yet.
However, as of 10:30am on Wednesday (May 27), when Graphic Online checked, the site [https://mohrecruitment.com/login ], had been "disabled" and was down with many prospective applicants wondering what was happening.

The recruitment application, which was fraught with challenges, resulting in many not being able to apply when it opened two weeks ago was to reopen on Wednesday May 27 and Thursday May 28, 2026 as announced by the ministry.
However, as of 10:30am on Wednesday (May 27), when Graphic Online checked, the site [https://mohrecruitment.com/login], it was down with many prospective applicants wondering what was happening.
On May 27, the announced date for the mop-up, the portal responded with "503 Error: Service Unavailable. Service is disabled."
Given the backlog of more than 100,000 unemployed health professionals according to the Human Resource directorate of the MoH, the Ministry had on many occasions indicated it acknowledges the anxiety and intense interest the recruitment exercise has generated.
However, the potential recruits trying to access the portal to apply for placement since it was first opened May 4, 2026, have been recounting how the system was automatically indicating to them that there were "no slots" available the moment they log on.
Aside from the challenges associated with the congestion to get into the portal, which had been going live at 10 am each day since it was opened on Monday, May 4, 2026, the applicants indicated how they were "surprisingly" told by the system that there were no regional slots available, even if they succeeded in logging in a few minutes after 10 am.
Then on May 27, the announced date for the mop-up, the portal responded with "503 Error: Service Unavailable. Service disabled."
