ICAO commend Ghana for air transport safety
The commission, which comprises 54 African States, is the specialised agency of the African Union responsible for Civil Aviation matters in Africa.
AFCAC facilitates cooperation and coordination among African States towards the development of integrated and sustainable Air Transport system; and fosters the implementation of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and development of harmonized rules and regulations, consistent with the best international practices in civil aviation.
The Vice President for his part said Ghana will continue to effectively co-operate with the International Civil Aviation Organisation to provide quality, safe and secured air transportation for users across the country.
He said although the air transport has seen a significant growth over the years, government will continue to commit more investment within the sector.
He expressed confidence in the decision by government to allow the Ghana Airport Company to retain all Airport tax its makes, in order to bring in more expansion within the sector.
