The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson on Friday handed over his oversight responsibilities at the Ministry of Defence to Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, who is now the new sector minister following a reshuffle by President John Mahama.
Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has left the Works and Housing portfolio for Ahmed Ibrahim who has also been reshuffled from the Local Government and Religious Affairs Ministry.
Dr Ato Forson started to oversee the Defence Ministry following the death of the substantive minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, on August 6, 2025 in a military helicopter crash.

Adjei is expected to take full charge of the ministry’s administration and oversee the implementation of government’s defence policies and programmes.
