Kwaku Tweneboah inducted as President of Rotary Club of Accra-Labone
Mr. Kwaku Tweneboah Ofosu, Sales and Circulation Manager of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) has been inducted into office as the new President of the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone.
Kwaku Tweneboah, otherwise called Tkay among his colleague Rotarians, will lead a new team of Board and Club directors to steer affairs of the vibrant club for the 2019/2020 Rotary Year, taking over from PP Yaw Abrokwa.

At a brief but impressive induction and handing over ceremony, RP Tkay committed to continue the good works of his predecessor and to raise the club’s image even higher, saying the show of support by the club members was a sign of hope for the spirit of service that promises the best for the future of philanthropic work.
“The culture of our club is known far and near and we are described as the most vibrant club of District 9102. I dare say we will not surrender this enviable position. We need to guard against any behavior that has the potential to break our common front”, he said to cheers of endorsement.
“Rotary Connects the World”
He said the theme of his administration for the 2019/2020 is Rotary Connects the World, a theme around which he hopes to rally support to better cater for the needs of humanity.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, how do we connect the world through Rotary? It starts right here from this room. In the acceptance speech as President-elect, RI President Mark Daniel Maloney said ‘Wherever we are from, whatever language we speak, whatever our culture or tradition, we are here together for one purpose. To build a stronger Rotary so that more Rotarians and Rotaractors and all in our family of Rotary can serve our world better than ever before.’ We do so through our numerous projects we undertake each year from the provision of clean water, promoting peace in conflict areas, providing basic education and literacy and through our flagship project- polio eradication project throughout the world.”
He enumerated a number of projects the club will be undertaking during the year, including;
- Drilling a complete borehole fitted with pumps and tanks in three deprived communities
- Provision of sanitary supplies to the female wards of the Pantang Hospital
- Construction of a Rotary-branded bus shed at Labone Junction
- Mounting of the Four Way Test and Rotary logo with a master brand signature to promote ethical standards
- Joint health outreach programmes with other Rotary clubs
- Donation of reading materials to reading clubs in selected schools in Accra
- Donation to the Children’s ward of the Nsawam Government Hospital
- Joint beach clean-up projects
He said by so doing, the club will be fulfilling the Rotary Foundation’s core objectives, explaining also that completing the projects should also help sell the club to more able and willing youths to enlist and increase membership from its current 40.
PP Abrokwa conducted the induction and handed over the staff of office to the new president.
