Lapaz Community Hospital delivers quadruplets from in vitro fertilisation
The Lapaz Community Hospital in Accra has delivered a set of quadruplets from in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
The bouncy set, comprising three boys and a girl, were delivered through caesarean section by a medical team led by Dr Fela Adoboe.
Dr Adoboe told newsmen that the hospital was committed to bringing relief and happiness to homes where childlessness had threatened the sustenance of marriages and relationships.
According to him, old age and poverty should not be barriers to the desire of couples to have their own babies.
He gave the assurance of making IVF and other fertility treatments affordable and promised that “several other deliveries of mostly singleton babies are expected this month.”
