Maiden edition of Women in PR Ghana seminar opens on July 1

All is set for the maiden edition of Women in Public Relations (PR) Ghana Seminar scheduled to take place on July 1, 2017 at the World Trade Centre in Accra.

The event is targeted at PR professionals and students, as well as people in the communications and the media industry.

Speakers at the seminar will include renowned women PR and communications specialists such as the Dean of the School of Information and Communications Studies of the University of Ghana, Profession Audrey Gadzekpo;  the President, African University College of Communications, Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright;  Head of Corporate Affairs, Tigo Ghana, Ms Gifty Bingley and Ms Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuo, PR Business Leader, Ogilvy & Mather Ghana.

Among some of the topics to be treated are ‘Choosing and starting a career in PR, Pitching and building media relationships, Social media for today’s PR woman, Rising up the corporate ladder, among others.

Panel discussion

The seminar will also include a panel discussion on “Women and PR” which will bring some of the issues and perceptions affecting the PR profession and how women can empower each other to build and advance in their career choices to bear.

The discussion, which will be moderated by a Communications Professional with Stratcomm Africa, Ms Akosua Ogyiri Kwafo, will have panellists, including the Sustainability and Community Affairs Manager, Voltic Ghana; Ms Joyce Ahiadorme,   the Head of PR Department, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Ms Paulina Kuranchie; Head of Public Relations, Trust Hospital Ms Afia Drah, and Ms Fati Shaibu, News Editor, e.TV Ghana.

The seminar will be hosted by the Head of PR, Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, Ms Diana Delali Amaglo.

The Women in PR Ghana Seminar event is organised by E’April Public Relations in partnership with the Institute of Public Relations Ghana with sponsorship from some corporate institutions.
