Man lynched at Kwabenya
The Accra Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the death of a man believed to be in his mid 30s at Kwabenya.
The body of the man, suspected to have been lynched, was found at Point One at Kwabenya around 6:30 a.m. yesterday.
According to the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Freeman-Tettey, the police received a call around 6:30 a.m. yesterday that a body was lying at Point One at Kwabenya, a suburb of Accra.
Upon arrival, Mr Tettey said the police found the body of a male adult with deep cuts on the head and blood all over him.
The deceased, according to Mr Tettey, was dressed in a blue T-shirt and a pair of jeans trousers but residents said he was unknown in the area.
Mr Tettey said the police had deposited the body at the Police Hospital mortuary, and indicated that they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
He advised the public against lynching people suspected to have committed crimes.
He emphasised that it was against the law for any person or group to take the law into their hands, no matter the offence the suspect might have committed.
