MASLOC presents 80 tricycles to beneficiaries in WR

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Microfinance and Small Loans Scheme (MASLOC), Mrs Sedina Tamakloe Attionu, has entreated the youth to see the tricycle business as a viable venture.

She said the business could positively change the lives of the youth if they take it seriously.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic in Accra after the presentation of 80 tricycles to some young people in the Western Region, Mrs Attionu said MASLOC was ready to support the youth to develop their own businesses.

Beneficiaries would pay for the cost of the tricycles on hire purchase terms.

She also said the presentation was in line with the government’s efforts to tackle youth unemployment.

The tricycle is used for the carting of goods in commercial quantities.

Transformation agenda

Mrs Attionu said addressing youth unemployment was a key part of the transformation agenda of the President.

She added that it was the responsibility of MASLOC to initiate measures to reduce poverty in the country and advised the beneficiaries to take good care of the tricycles.

Present at the ceremony was the Deputy Western Regional Minister, Mr Alfred Ekow Gyan and Mr Joshua Akosah, the head of MASLOC in the region.
