Stan Dogbe, Kofi Adams Ablakwa , Abedi and 7 others to lead Ghana’s 2026 World Cup preparations

An 11-member Ministerial Oversight Committee has been inaugurated to guide Ghana’s preparation and participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, inaugurated the committee at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, [Nov 26, 2025] and urged them to carry out their duties with integrity and diligence .

He stressed that careful coordination would be crucial as the country prepares for the tournament.

The committee comprises representatives from key sectors whose work will contribute to Ghana’s World Cup preparations.

The members are:

Stan Xoese Dogbe - Office of the President
Kofi Adams -  Sports and Recreation
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa -  Ministry of Foreign Affairs
George Opare Addo -  Youth Development
Yusif Jajah -  Deputy Minister, Tourism and Culture
Mr Ampem Nyarkoh -  Deputy Minister, Finance
Mr Kurt Okraku -  President, Ghana Football Association (Chairman)
Ms Elizabeth Yankah - Deputy National Security Coordinator
Mr Abedi Pele -  Former Black Stars Captain
Mrs Wilhelmina Asamoah - Chief Director, Ministry of Youth and Sports

The government has allocated GH¢150 million to support the Black Stars’ participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
