Minister orders contractors to stop work

Contractors working on the Madina-Pantang Road have been directed to stop erecting traffic signals on it and submit the designs to the Ministry of Roads and Highways for re-vetting.

The sector Minister, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, who gave the directive on Thursday, said the ministry was not satisfied with work carried out so far on the mounting of traffic signals on the road by China Water and Electric Corporation.

He said since work on the traffic signals was yet to be done, it was necessary to ensure that every detail of the road design was captured.

Briefing journalists at the Ritz Junction on the 5.6- kilometre Madina-Pantang Road after a check on the work of the contractors, the minister described that aspect of the work on the road as “substandard work being carried out by the contractors”.
