Movie House Renovates: Mallam Atta Government Clinic
The Mallam Atta Government Clinic in Accra has been renovated at a cost of GH¢30,000. The restoration works entailed tiling the entire floor in the building, putting up block works, painting, glazing and construction of glass cubicles, fixing of ceiling fans, new doors and lighting. Other introductions were the provision of flat screen television sets and office tables and chairs.
The refurbishment of the clinic was undertaken by Movie House Plaza, a cinema house and movie company.
The Chief Executive Officer of Movie House Plaza, Mr David Amoo-Osae Jnr, who handed over the building to the Senior Medical Officer of the Mamobi General Hospital, Dr Prince Dartey, noted that it was a let down to find the clinic that served the entire Mallam Atta community in a deplorable state.
He said the gesture formed part of the company's social responsibility towards the community. He said that it was duty-bound to share the wealth it was able to make with the underprivileged in society and also give back to the community in which it operated.
He said Movie House Plaza also had a subsidiary company called Charity House, which did a lot of charity work across the country on behalf of the company.
He said this year, the company chose three areas on which to focus its assistance; women, children and the renovation of Police Stations across the country.
"The company is currently renovating the 1st Floor of the Korle-Bu Medical Block and the Adabraka Police Station," Mr Amoo-Osae said.
He urged other businesses and entrepreneurs in and around Mallam Atta and Kokomlemle to contribute their quota to develop the community.
Dr Prince Dartey thanked the management and staff of Movie House Plaza for their kind gesture and assured them that the new-look clinic would be regularly maintained.
Mrs Stella Asiamah, the Deputy Chief Physician Assistant at the Mallam Atta Government Clinic, said the staff of the facility would work very hard to deliver quality service to patients, who visit the centre.
