New board inaugurated for Ghana Water Ltd
The Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has inaugurated a newly constituted Board of Directors for the Ghana Water Limited (GWL).
The Board, chaired by Eric J. Biliguo Adama, the President’s nominee, comprises Adam Mutawakilu, as Acting Managing Director of GWL; Dr Hadisu Alhassan, representing workers; Prof. Afishata Mohammed Abujaja; Alhaji Abu Mahama; Mr Ibrahim Abdul Jalil; Agbesi Nutsu; Prof. Jasper A. Ayelazuno; and Mr Mathias Kwame Ntow.
Mr Adjei charged the new board with a clear mandate to enhance water supply nationwide, urging a shift from “business as usual” to a culture of professionalism, accountability, and high performance.
“You are expected to be architects of transformation. From bureaucratic inertia to dynamic innovation, you must lead with vision, act with integrity, and govern with transparency,” the Minister stated.
In response, the Board Chairman pledged the team’s full commitment to delivering on its responsibilities and contributing meaningfully to the water sector’s development.
