The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed that it successfully contained a fast-spreading fire involving several wooden structures at Madina Ritz Junction on Monday, July 15, 2025, with no casualties reported.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the GNFS noted that despite significant challenges, including limited access, multiple gas explosions, and the absence of hydrants—firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 7:50 p.m. and fully extinguished it by 9:43 p.m.

"The fierce fire, which affected dwellings and commercial units, was reported at 1900 hours and quickly responded to by the Madina Fire Station within 4 minutes, with reinforcement from Legon and Abelemkpe Fire Stations," the statement read.

"No fatalities or injuries were recorded. Several wooden structures and contents were severely destroyed. Nearby properties were salvaged through swift intervention," it added.

The GNFS further stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation and commended the firefighters for their courage and professionalism in handling the situation.

"We salute our gallant firefighters for their courage and professionalism in saving lives," the statement concluded.
