NYA warns against illegal sale of free apprenticeship forms

The National Youth Authority (NYA) has cautioned members of the public not to pay for application forms for the National Apprenticeship Programme, describing the sale of such forms as unlawful.

In a press statement issued on Monday, May 26, 2025, the Authority said it had received reports that some individuals were collecting money from applicants in exchange for the forms, which are meant to be distributed freely.

“The National Apprenticeship Programme, launched by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in Tamale, is a pro-poor initiative aimed at equipping young Ghanaians with employable skills,” said Mr Osman Ayariga, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the NYA.

“As clearly stated by the President during the launch, the forms are not to be sold under any circumstances.”

Mr Ayariga noted that investigations have begun into the reported incidents. He warned that anyone found to be extorting money from prospective applicants will face legal action.

The Authority urged all applicants and members of the public to report any such cases to the nearest NYA office or to local authorities.

According to the NYA, the application forms are available free of charge at all NYA district and regional offices.

Applicants may also download them from the Authority’s official website: https://www.nya.gov.gh/downloads.
