Old Vandals support cured lepers village
The Old Vandals Association (OVA) has presented assorted items to the Schoonhoven Village of Cured Lepers in Ho.
The items included bags of rice, cartons of chicken, milk, smoked fish, second-hand clothes and pieces of Togbe Afede XIV’s anniversary cloth.
A former Hall Master of the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana, Professor Harry Akussah, presented the items on behalf of the association, stating that the donation was part of the association’s social responsibility.
Giving back to society
According to him, the association believed in giving back to society by supporting the less privileged.
He called on the authorities of the village to make effective use of the items for the benefit of the inmates.
Appreciation
The Co-ordinating Director of the Cured Lepers Foundation, Ms Joycelyn Akorfa Ochlich, who received the items, thanked the association for the kind gesture.
She called on philanthropists and organisations to assist the foundation to build a vocational centre for children of the inmates to learn a trade.
