Ownkey wins Prop-Tech Innovation Company of the Year at the Ghana Property Awards

Ownkey.com, a real estate “marketplace” designed to facilitate direct chat between property seekers and verified agents or owners, has been adjudged the “Prop-Tech (Property Technology) Innovation company of the year” at the 18th edition of the Ghana Property awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

A night dedicated to honouring excellence and resilience in the property and construction sectors, Ownkey achieved a milestone victory on the strength of tackling litigation and land tenure insecurity by providing the market with the highest standards of verified and legitimate property.

“This recognition is a powerful validation of your commitment to transparency, technology, and trust in the Ghanaian property market,” part of the citation said.

The Ghana Property Awards, recognised as the nation's most credible platform for industry excellence, places a high value on innovation that solves real-world problems.

Ownkey, a technology-based company operating within the real estate space and has become synonymous with eliminating property uncertainty was among more than two dozen companies in different categories that were recognised on the night.

The rest of the winners included SHELBBiE Homes, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, Elegant Homes, Ashmint Properties Ltd, Enterprise Properties Ltd, and the finance leaders at First National Bank Ghana.

The company’s high-quality photos, video and virtual tours, interactive map search with a "draw-to-search" function, and real-time notifications also contributed to receiving the wards.

“We ensure standardized practices and transparent connections between verified landlords, agents, developers, and property seekers, driving an orderly and inclusive ecosystem,” the Chief Executive Officer of Ownkey, Mr. Ilyas Ibrahim, stated.

The minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who was represented by an official from the ministry, Mr Emmanuel Hovey Kporsu, said land was the backbone of Ghana’s housing agenda and broader infrastructure ambitions.

He called for decency and transparency in offering decent accommodation to the ordinary Ghanaian.
