Pharmacy Council honours Prof. Johnson Kwaku Kwakye for over two decades of distinguished service
The Pharmacy Council of Ghana, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has honoured Professor Johnson Kwaku Kwakye with a Citation of Honour for his more than 22 years of dedicated service to the profession.
The citation recognises his exemplary leadership as Chief Examiner and his pivotal role in guiding the Board of Examiners with integrity, fairness, and professionalism.
Presenting the citation in Accra last week, the Chairman of the Pharmacy Council Governing Board, Hon. Yieleh Chireh, expressed gratitude to him for his selfless service to the Council and assured that his wisdom and experience would continue to be drawn upon whenever needed.
"For over twenty-two (22) years, you have stood as a steadfast pillar of excellence, integrity, and wisdom-guiding the Board of Examiners of the Pharmacy Council with distinction, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of the profession," the citation read.
The Council stated that under Prof. Kwakye's stewardship, rigorous and transparent qualifying examinations were conducted, producing over 4,000 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who now serve across Ghana and beyond.
Professor Kwakye is also credited with mentoring generations of professionals, strengthening the regulatory credibility of the Pharmacy Council, and advancing pharmaceutical education and public health.
"Your mentorship and principled stewardship have shaped generations of professionals, strengthened the Council's regulatory credibility, and advanced the cause of pharmaceutical education and public health in Ghana."
"Your name, Professor Johnson Kwaku Kwakye, is forever etched in the annals of the Pharmacy Council and the history of pharmacy in Ghana, as one whose vision, humility, and integrity have strengthened a profession and uplifted a nation."

The Council further described his legacy as one defined by excellence, discipline, humility, and an enduring contribution to the development of pharmacy practice in Ghana.
"With deep gratitude, respect, and profound admiration, the Pharmacy Council of Ghana, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, proudly confers upon you this Citation of Honour for your long, meritorious, and selfless service to the nation," the citation added.
