The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, on Wednesday visited Dr. Ernest Addison, the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), following a raid on his residence at Roman Ridge in Accra allegedly by operatives of the National Security.
The Effutu Member of Parliament reportedly expressed outrage over the raid and consoled Dr. Addison and his family, assuring them that he would demand answers from the government regarding the incident.
The raid, which occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, was conducted by armed men, some wearing balaclavas and wielding guns.
The operatives were reportedly led by a Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat.

The raid on Dr. Addison’s residence is the second such operation allegedly by the National Security on former high-ranking officials of the President Akufo-Addo administration since President John Mahama took office on January 7, 2025.
The first occurred on Monday, February 10, 2025, when armed men raided the home of Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana’s longest-serving Finance Minister, in Labone, Accra. That operation was captured on CCTV cameras, with footage later leaked to the public.
