According to Mr Frederick Appiah, the programme will ensure that all schools are supplied with free exercise books for children in both the private and public schools.

Delivering a keynot address on the theme; “Peace and role of the private schools in national building” at the graduation ceremony of High Brains Preparatory School at Ajumako-Brofoyedur, Mr Appiah called on parents and guardians to support the school to develop because the government alone could not absorb the needs of all the children.

The Proprietor of the school, Mr Edward G. Wilson, outlined the challenges facing the school, which included the construction of permanent classrooms and the provision of teaching and learning materials.

He appealed to the district chief executive area to help construct ramps on the Bisease-Brofoyedor road to check speeding around the school’s premises.

He urged the government to consider posting national service persons to teach in private schools nation-wide.

Mr Wilson said the High Brains Senior High School started with six students and could now boast of a student population of 276. He added that, the third batch of final year students, numbering 28, took part in this year’s West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The chairman for the occasion, Nana Sekyi Appiah, advised parents and guardians to do their best to support the education of their children wards, as education was the best legacy one could bequeath his children.

Nana Appiah, who is also an aspiring assembly member for Osandze-Bantoma and Head of “Prince George’s School Complex at Kasoa, assured the proprietor of his preparedness to provide the new school building with roofing sheets and a set of football jerseys. — GNA
