Police arrest two suspects for forcing teenagers into sexual act in viral video
The Western Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects captured in a viral video physically assaulting two teenagers, a 13-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, and forcing them to engage in sexual intercourse.
The suspects, Edward Azalekor, 52, an Assemblyman for Effiakuma West Electoral Area, and Martin Amuzu, 35, an uncle to the female victim, were arrested on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Effiakuma.
According to police report, the incident came to light following a WhatsApp video received from a presenter at Connect FM. The disturbing footage showed the suspects forcing the two teenagers to have sexual intercourse in a shop while others cheered, laughed, and filmed the act.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the female teenager had left home in the afternoon of February 16, 2026, without informing her mother and returned around 7:40 pm.
The mother, angered by her daughter's actions, informed suspect Azalekor to discipline the girl. The suspects subsequently lured the teenage boy to the scene and forced the minors to engage in the sexual act.
The accused persons were arraigned before the Harbor District Court in Takoradi on Friday, February 27, where they were each granted bail in the sum of GHC 20,000. They are scheduled to reappear on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The female victim is currently in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare. Police investigations are ongoing, with efforts intensified to arrest Isaac Nana Osei, who filmed the act and is currently on the run.
