Police given boost to fight crime
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Amasaman Constituency, Mr Emmanuel Nii Okai Laryea, has presented a motorbike to the Achimota Mile Seven District Police Command to fight crime and maintain peace and order in the area.
The motorbike, which was handed over to the District Commander, Superintendent Theodore Hlormenu, is expected to improve upon the operations of the police service.
The donation was in response to an appeal the commander made to some dignitaries to support the police with the needed logistics to combat crime in the area.
At a brief ceremony to present the motorbike, the MP said it was meant to bring policing to the doorsteps of the people.
He also indicated that he enjoyed much protection from the service, and it was only fair and proper to come to its aid with the needed logistics.

Superintendent Hlormenu expressed excitement about the presentation and noted that it would ease the operations of the service.
As the election approaches, he said the service needed to up its game, hence would require a lot of logistics.
He also called for close collaboration from the public to help fight crime in society.
