In a press statement issued by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), the government declared three days of national mourning beginning Thursday, August 7, 2025.

The statement urged the nation to observe the period of mourning with solemnity and reflection.
