
See the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance on August 11-12, 2025
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works in parts of the Greater Accra, Volta, and Ashanti regions from Monday, August 11, to Tuesday, August 12, 2025, as part of efforts to improve service delivery.
In a series of public notices, the power distributor said the exercise will take place between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm each day, affecting several communities.
On Monday, August 11, residents in parts of the Greater Accra Region, including Odorkor, Awoshie, Gbawe, Alobgboshie, the Atomic Energy Commission area, Lakeside Communities 6 and 8, New Legon, and surrounding areas, will be affected.
The following day, Tuesday, August 12, planned works will impact multiple locations across the three regions. In Greater Accra, the affected communities include Mandela, SCC, Sunny Coast, Korkordjor, Kinshasha, Shiabu, Gbegbeyise Beach Road, Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Tetegu, Osu, Twumasewaa Hospital, Ability, and surrounding areas.
In the Volta Region, residents of Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, the 66 Artillery Training Centre, and surrounding areas will also experience outages during the maintenance period.
In the Ashanti Region, the exercise will cover a wide area. On Tuesday, Aboaso, Mamponteng, Bekwai Township, Esumeja, Kokofu, Fomai, Awniankwanta, Dominase, Behenase, Ntinanko, Poano, Daa, Apaaso, Asenfi, Adjamesu, Anwiam, Sisikro, Asikuma, Amoafo, Kwamang, and surrounding areas will be affected.
Other impacted communities include Kotwi, Nkoranza, Kokoben, Bekwame, Sabin Akrofrom, Nketiah, Achiase, Amoaman, Asuofia, Asaman, part of Buoho, Sasa, Akrowa, Agric Nzema, Kromoase, Akyeremade, Yabi, Kwanwoma, Aburaso, Abuakwa, Lawson Herbal, Abakomade, Mankranso, Kunsu, Gyaekontabuo, and nearby locations.
The ECG has apologised for any inconvenience the maintenance works may cause and assured customers that the exercise is necessary to enhance the reliability of electricity supply.
