See the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance on September 24

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of the Greater Accra and Central regions will experience an eight-hour power outage on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, to allow for planned maintenance works.

The exercise, according to the power distributor, is aimed at improving service delivery to customers in the affected areas.

In Greater Accra, power will be interrupted between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Legon, Penta House, East Legon Hills, Agbleza, Green Hotel, Ablaza, Whoa, Nsumia, KK City, New Bortianor, Adanseman, Cassava Farm, Mr Obeng Block Factory, Oshiyie and surrounding areas.

In the Central Region, the outage will affect parts of Winneba Junction, the University of Education North and South campuses, sections of Winneba town, the Police Depot, Sankor, Akosua village, and nearby communities. The power cut will last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In a statement, the company apologised for the inconvenience and assured customers that the temporary disruption was necessary to enhance the reliability of supply.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise as a result of this exercise,” it stated.

The company has in recent months intensified planned maintenance across the country as part of measures to stabilise the power network and reduce unplanned outages.
