Tesano Police grab fake estate agent
A 29-year-old man is in the grip of the police for allegedly defrauding a number of people on the pretext of helping them secure accommodation in various parts of Accra.
Samuel Osei, a self-acclaimed Disc Jokey (DJ), is said to be an active member of a syndicate that specialises in accommodation fraud.
Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Tesano District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Edward Tetteh, said Osei and other members of his gang of fraudsters had been on the wanted list of the police for some time now.

He mentioned that Osei was arrested when he attempted to defraud a woman he had promised to help secure accommodation at Nyamekye.
Fraud
Osei and his accomplices, now at large, are said to have earlier defrauded two women, a nurse and a broadcaster, of GH¢4,000 in June 2017.
According to the police, they used three houses at Fadama, North Kaneshie and the Kaneshie Polyclinic area as staged scenes to outwit the women and defrauded them of GH¢2,000 each on separate occasions.
They are said to have shared the booty and subsequently gone into hiding.
The broadcaster lodged a complaint with the Lapaz Police while the second victim, the nurse, reported to the Tesano Police after Osei defrauded her.
The police said there had been other complaints of accommodation fraud in which the victims cited the same modus operandi used by Osei and his accomplices to swindle them.

On May 10, 2018, a third victim who suspected foul play while she was being lured by Osei to part with some money to secure accommodation informed the police and that led to Osei’s arrest.
He has since been detained at the Tesano Police Station while the police investigate and hunt for his accomplices.
