Three teenagers drown in River Densu
The bodies of three teenagers have been retrieved from the banks of the River Densu at Weija near Accra.
They were identified by family members as Samuel Kwabenya Acquah, 14; Junior Dramando,13, and Samuel Goodluck, 14.
The three friends were said to have gone swimming in the Densu River on Friday, April 10, 2015.
The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mrs Affia Tenge, said the three were reported to have drowned in the river about 12:30 p.m. on that fateful Friday while swimming.
After the police and the families had searched for the bodies for three days without success, the bodies were washed onto the banks of the river on the third day after the incident.
The bodies were intact, apart from the eyes that were missing.
The bodies have since been deposited at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
