This follows the expiry of a 10-day ultimatum given to the policemen to produce the escapees or face sanctions.

The ultimatum expired yesterday and as of the time of filing this report, the policemen had not been able to produce the suspects.

The two are Sergeant Appiah Boahen and Lance Corporal Adu Atta, with police identification numbers 34570 and 44179, respectively.

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr Ampofo Duku, told the Daily Graphic that a formal report was being taken from the Suame Divisional Command to begin the trial soon.

The escapees, believed to have committed murder at the Adankwame area, near Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya District in the Ashanti Region, were arrested by the police at Suame in Kumasi but broke jail on Friday, November 21, 2014.

They were to be put before court on Friday, November 28, 2014 but the process had stalled because of their escape.
