Acknowledging the current economic difficulties in the country, the Vice-President assured investors of a recovery process to put the economy on a sound footing.

Mr Amissah-Arthur made the case for Ghana when he met Turkish investors after the inaugural ceremony of the newly elected Turkish President, Tayyip Erdogan, in Ankara last week.

The Vice-President had joined world leaders and government functionaries from other parts of the world to witness the ceremony for the new Turkish leader who polled 51.8 per cent in that country’s presidential election.

Mr Amissah-Arthur invited Turkish investors and others from other parts of the world to come to Ghana and assured them of the government’s readiness to ensure a win-win situation should they decide to take advantage of the good investment climate in Ghana.

Mr Amissah-Arthur urged captains of industry back home to join hands with the government in the quest to find a lasting solution to the economic challenges.

He expressed optimism that the economy would bounce back “sooner than expected” and was upbeat that the measures put in place by the government would result in macro-economic stability.

The vice-president said as the country strived to get out of the economic challenges, the government was adopting strategic investment measures to ensure sustained economic stability.

In an interview in Accra on his return, the Vice-President said his trip to Turkey was fruitful, since he used the opportunity to market Ghana’s economic potential.

He said Ghana would deepen its bilateral relations with Turkey, especially in the area of trade, with emphasis on textiles and upholstery, in view of Turkey’s expertise in textile production.

“Our doors are wide open to investors out there who want to come and do business with us,” Mr Amissah-Arthur stressed.
