National Child Health Co-ordinator

A member of the 1980 year group, Dr Isabella Sagoe-Moses, who is also the National Child Health Coordinator of the Ghana Health Service, said, they learnt from the regional health directorate of health services that the clinic was meant to be a model maternal and child healthcare centre.

They, therefore, decided to present the items to the facility to enable it start antenatal clinic, do deliveries and offer child health services.

The President of the 1980 year group, Mrs Agnes Otoo Yeboah, who made the presentation, said most members of the year group were now 50 years and above, and they thought it wise to give back to society what thay had gained over the years.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the assembly, Mr Jerry Akwei Thompson, explained that the opening of the clinic had been delayed because after its completion, the assembly did not have money to buy the equipment for it to start operations. He was, therefore, grateful to the group for its support.

He complained that the people in the area had not been paying their property rates, adding that they should honour their civic responsibilities to the assembly in order to enable it provide the community with essential services.
