What is shakeable in kumasi will be shaken — Bonnke Crusade Director
The Africa Executive Director for Christ For All Nations (CFAN), the ministry founded 40 years ago by German Evangelist, Rev Reinhard Bonnke, has said for the upcoming November 6 to 9, 2014 gospel crusade in Kumasi, “What is breakable will be broken. What is shakeable will be shaken in the city”.

He knows what he is talking about. He has been in the Bonnke team for upwards of 30 years and has seen at Bonnke crusades what many mortal eyes have not seen. He has seen the dead raised (if you seek proof, go on the Internet, Google the name, ‘Pastor Daniel Ekechukwu’ and read the reports written by American journalist who, cynical, travelled all the way from USA to Nigeria to check on the veracity of the claim).
The Ghanaian CFAN Africa Executive Director has seen the power of the gospel at work to transform lives. At a CFAN crusade in Burkina Faso, thieves who had stolen equipment from a government hospital, happened to hear Bonnke preach on the fruit of true repentance. They were so cut to the heart by the convicting power of the gospel that they carried back the stolen item to the crusade ground the next night. The equipment was later returned to the hospital. Since it was not the police who arrested them, they were not prosecuted in court. Later, when the story was told to the President of Burkina Faso, he invited Bonnke and his team and honoured them. Two of those robbers are now pastors!
Enduring legacy
But by far, the most enduring legacy which Bonnke will leave for humankind is the number of people who have been saved at his crusades. Within five months — that is, from November 2011 to March 2012 — some 9,120,000 people made a decision to come to the faith in Christ. In Nigeria alone, some 1,093,000 souls came to the faith at what has been termed ‘The Millennium Crusade’ in Lagos. By the end of the three-day crusade, a total of 3,450,000 people had registered decisions for Jesus.
Overwhelmed by the sheer bulk of the evidence, Professor Jack W. Hayford, Chancellor of the King’s Seminary, Los Angeles, California, wrote: “I believe that honesty requires acknowledging that Reinhard Bonnke is the most far-reaching, most dynamically penetrating international evangelist in the world.”
But about the miracles at his crusades, Bonnke himself is on record as saying that “ there is no special power in my hands or my prayer, any more than there was special virtue in the fringe of Jesus’s robe.“
This statement has been tested and found true in the aftermath of his handing over the presidency of CFAN to American evangelist, Daniel Kolenda. When mind-blowing miracles were recorded at CFAN crusades in Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, among other countries, where Kolenda alone preached and ministered, it was the doubting journalists who were the first to confess that “indeed, it is Jesus, not Bonnke.”
Evangelist Kolenda, either alone, or with Bonnke, will minister in word and in power at the upcoming November 6 to 9 crusade at Suame Roundabout in Kumasi.

Rev. John Darko, the Africa CFAN Executive Director, interacting with journalists in Kumasi as part of preparations for the crusade, has assured churches in Kumasi that “as has always been done in all our (CFAN) crusades everywhere in the world for the past 40 years,” the souls won during the four-day Kumasi crusade would be handed over to the local participating churches”.
Harvesting souls
As a direct harvesting of souls in the history of CFAN crusades, some churches have grown from a congregation of 500 to 3,000 filled with converts who were convicted by the life-changing gospel proclamation of Bonnke and Kolenda.
The CFAN Africa Director prayed that as a direct result of the Kumasi crusade, the Holy Spirit will occupy the “miracle-free zones” in the churches, where hitherto, miracles had and empower the pastors, evangelists, apostles and prophets to minister in power, with God following His word with signs and creative miracles.
“From this crusade, we will be spreading blessing to the entire city of Kumasi, and from Kumasi, we will export blessing to the rest of Ghana,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kumasi is gearing up for the anticipated four-day event. Every hand is on deck as Catholics, Anglicans, Presbyterians, Baptists, Pentecostals and Charismatics meet almost weekly, inter-denominationally, to train ushers and counsellors, to pray and to plan.
The board overseeing the planning of the crusade is headed by Most Reverend Professor Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Primate of the Church of West Africa, Anglican Communion, and includes Very Rev Professor Osei Sarfo Kantanka, Diocesan Bishop of the Kumasi archdiocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Rev Dr Kwabena Darko, founder of Darko Farms and General Overseer for the Oasis of Love International Church, and Rev Dr Douglas Frimpong, Senior Pastor of Christian Outreach Ministries, who is the crusade planning committee chairman.
