Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, born January 6, 1966, is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

He is an accomplished legal practitioner, distinguished academic, and seasoned politician who has been nominated as Ghana’s next Attorney-General and Minister for Justice by President John Dramani Mahama.

Early Life and Education

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon, where he graduated with honours. 

Ayine furthered his legal education at the Ghana School of Law, earning a Barrister-at-Law certificate that qualified him to practice law in Ghana.

Ayine obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the prestigious University of Michigan Law School in the United States, specialising in International Economic Law. He later earned a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree from Stanford Law School, cementing his reputation as a legal scholar of global repute.

Dr Ayine’s academic career is marked by impactful teaching and research. As a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, he has mentored countless students and contributed significantly to the development of legal education in the country.

His areas of expertise include International Trade Law, Investment Law, and Constitutional Law, subjects on which he has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and academic texts.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Ayine is the founder of Ayine & Felli Law Office, a leading law firm known for its focus on commercial and investment law. Political Career

Dominic Ayine’s political journey began in 2013 when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency.

During his tenure, he served on several parliamentary committees, including the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee.
