The Presiding Bishop of the church, Bishop George Adjeman, who made the call, said it was important for Ghanaians to remain united in order to maintain the peace and stability in the country.

He said when the nation remained united, the people would be able to overcome any obstacles that came their way to enable them to achieve their aspirations as a nation.

“Let’s believe in what God has put in us. I believe that the nation, collectively, will improve,” he said.

Vision

Bishop Adjeman said the vision of the church was to preach the word of God to the world, but he noted that in order to achieve that purpose, there was the need for unity.

The Winners Chapel Ghana seceded from its mother church with its headquarters in Nigeria 10 years ago following a misunderstanding between some members of the church in Ghana and the leadership in Nigeria.

Bishop Adjeman however explained the circumstances that led to those developments, pointing out that the WCG did not break away from any church but rather, there was a change of leadership.

“Never have we broken away from anywhere,” he reiterated.

Addressing needs of communities

Bishop Adjeman said it was important for the church to identify the needs of communities in which itoperated and help address them.

“WCG would have to become more relevant in the various communities we find ourselves in,” he added.

He also advised the members to be each other’s keeper as Jesus Christ had taught his disciples.
