Yahweh City Church holds Christmas party for vulnerable children at Brofoyedru

The Yahweh City Church at Brofoyedru in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region during the Christmas festivities feted over 500 vulnerable children in the community and its environs.

The church organised a Christmas party for the children at the Brofoyedru Market Square on Christmas Eve.

The church also distributed uncooked food items, including rice, cooking oil, drinks, and sardines to the widows in its congregation.

Speaking at the event, the General Overseer, Pastor George Osei Kofi, said the purpose of the party was to share the joy of Christ’s birth with the less privileged in the society, particularly children and widows.

He said Christ when on Earth showed so much love to children and widows, hence the church’s decision to share the love of Christmas with children and widows.

Pastor Osei Kofi also pointed out that the church organised the party as well as distributed foods to the widows to demonstrate Christ’s love and care for the needy, saying “the anniversary of Christ’s birth legitimises another special celebration – the demonstration of love and care to the vulnerable.”

He added that the party was also intended to bring the children together to have fun as well as to create a physical and social cohesion between the community and the Yahweh City Church.

He noted that the church would continue to prioritise the physical and spiritual needs of its people, indicating that this is the second time we are organising this Christmas party in the community for the children.

Pastor Osei Kofi, however, said this year’s edition did not witness musicals, drama, choreography, and dance competitions as was done in the maiden edition due to the observance of COVID-19 safety protocols.

An Associate Pastor, Pastor Emmanuel Kwaku Boateng led the children through prayers, and shared a wonderful Christmas message with them.

The Executive Council of the church expressed profound appreciation to their partner, Asantewaa Foundation, church leaders, members and the Assemblyman of the area for their diverse roles in the successful organisation of the party.
