A vote for Bawumia is a vote for homosexuality – Sam George

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George Nartey has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, alleging that a vote for the NPP in the December 7 elections would indicate support for homosexuality and policies that undermine Ghanaian cultural and family values.

Speaking at the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) final rally at Zurak Park in Madina on Thursday, December 5, Sam George, who is the lead advocate for the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, commonly referred to as the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, urged Ghanaians to vote overwhelmingly for John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, whom he described as the true defenders of Ghana’s cultural heritage and moral values.

He argued that a vote for the NPP would pave the way for policies threatening Ghana’s cherished traditions and beliefs.

The lawmaker accused the NPP of being lenient on LGBTQ+ issues and warned that their policies, if left unchecked, could erode the country’s moral standards.

He contrasted this with the NDC’s position, which he claimed firmly aligns with Ghanaian values and traditions.

Sam George expressed confidence that a Mahama-led government would quickly sign the bill into law, solidifying Ghana’s opposition to what he described as “external influences” attempting to impose foreign values on the nation.

“On Saturday, as we go to the polls, we vote for one reason, which is the reset of Ghana. A vote for John Dramani Mahama is a vote to protect our culture and our family values. A vote for Bawumia and NAPO is a vote for homosexuality. A vote for comprehensive sexuality education, and Ghanaians must say no,” he said.

“We need Mahama to come and sign the bill into law. If you love the children of Ghana, if you love our family values, and you love your faith, vote against the NPP,” he added.
