Abu Sakara sure of winning 2012 elections

The CPP, according to him filed for 145 out of the 275 parliamentary seats "and I will be surprised if we failed to win more than 20 seats in the next Parliament"' he said.

The calibre of people who were contesting on the ticket of the CPP would enable the party to increase its present one seat in Parliament tremendously; he said explaining that the party now had dedicated candidates who were prepared to finance their campaign activities.

He indicated that during the campaign throughout the country, he had made it clear to Ghanaians about the need for an alternative government apart from what the NDC and the NPP had offered since the country returned to constitutional rule in 1993.

Dr Sakara said the situation whereby the wealth of the country was in the hands of the rich few cannot be tolerated and there was the need for an alternative Government which would ensure that the country's wealth was evenly distributed.

"My message has well been received and that gives me the hope that I am going to win the upcoming presidential election".

Dr Sakara said the CPP stood for free and quality education for Ghanaians explaining that he enjoyed from Dr Nkrumah's free education policy to make him what he was today.

On job creation, he said the youth knew perfectly well that it was only the CPP that could create jobs for them.

The CPP flag bearer said it was unfortunate that parties who had been offered the chance to serve Ghana during the past 20 years were now espousing how they could provide employment for the already disenchanted youth.

He explained that instead of reviving the country's industries, they presided over the collapsed and instead adopted policies that could only provide jobs to citizens of its foreign trade partners.

Dr Sakara said the present generation of CPP leadership was determined to give hope to Ghanaians and show that Africans were capable of managing their own affairs to perfection.

He called on Ghanaian to make their dream of an alternative government happen by voting against both the NDC and the NPP.

"Before you cast your vote, think about your future and the future of your children. We should not go into this election as the usual Kotoko and Hearts of Oak or Chelsea and Manchester United games. This election is a serious business, it is about you future and that of your children", he said.

The CPP flag bearer expressed worry about the current trend of molestations of its candidates, particularly in the Volta, Central and the Western regions and the defacing of the party's posters.

He cited Agona Swedru in the Central Region and South Tongu in the Volta Region where people wearing the CPP paraphernalia, according to him, were being molested and called for a stop to that since the party would not be able to endure such intimidate anymore.

Dr Sakara stated the CPP would emulate its founder, the late Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah to trade ideas in the face of limited resources and would not resort to such intimidation tactics to seek the mandate of the people.

Answering a question on why the party was not visible during the campaign period, Dr Sakara said the CPP had adopted what he termed "a door to door, street to street and one-on-one campaign approach instead of the gargantuan rallies associated with the NDC and the NPP" and asked the press to wait until the final results before passing such judgements.

He asked true Nkrumahists to join hands with the CPP since it was the only true Nkrumahist political party explaining that other parties who claimed to be Nkrumahist were doing so for their parochial interests.

According to Dr Sakara he would head toward the Northern Region for his last round of campaign during which he would make whistle stops along the way.

He is expected to cast his ballot on the Election Day at his hometown, Damango.
