Agona East gets new DCE

A-64-year-old former Assistant Headmaster of the Nsaba Presbyterian Senior High School (NSASS), Mr Francis Duodu Addo, has been overwhelmingly elected as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Agona East District Assembly in the Central Region.

He replaces Mr Martin Luther Obeng, who was recently dismissed by President John Dramani Mahama.

The nominee,  who spotted an all-white apparel, had 100 per cent endorsement from the 29 assembly members in an election held last Friday and supervised by the Electoral Commission led by the District Electoral Officer, Madam Patience Sherbrah.

The confirmation voting  was attended by the member of Paliament for the area , Ms Queenster Pokuah Sawyerr,  heads of departments, MMDCEs, NDC party supporters and sympathisers, as well as relations of the nominee.

He was later sworn in by His Worship Isaac Apeatu, the Presiding Judge of the Agona Swedru Magistrate’s Court.
