Atwima Nwabiagya South NPP Vice Chair urges Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia
As Ghana approaches the December 7 general election, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency First Vice Chairman, John Kwame Duodu has issued a rallying call for Ghanaians to turn out in large numbers to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP.
In a statement, Sir John emphasised that the election represents a pivotal moment in Ghana’s history, urging citizens to view it as a choice between progress and regression. “This is more than just another election; it is a decision that will determine whether we advance with progress and development or revert to the days of hardship, neglect, and empty promises,” he stated.

Risks of apathy
Mr. Duodu alias Sir John warned against voter apathy, stressing that staying at home would only benefit the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama. He noted, “Apathy constitutes a vote for failure. Choosing not to vote benefits the NDC and John Mahama. Ghana cannot afford to make that mistake.”
Highlighting "the risks" of a Mahama presidency, Sir John criticised the former leader’s tenure, pointing to economic mismanagement, corruption, and the infamous “dumsor” energy crisis. He argued that Mahama lacks the vision and solutions required to lead Ghana into the future. “Mahama's return to power is about personal redemption, not Ghanaian progress,” he claimed, adding, “The rest of us would suffer greatly as a result.”
Praising Dr. Bawumia as a competent and innovative leader, Sir John lauded the Vice President’s achievements in digitising Ghana’s economy and expanding access to education through the Free Senior High School programme. “Dr. Bawumia’s policies are aimed at creating a strong, inclusive, and prosperous Ghana for all citizens,” he said.
Call to action
Sir John urged Ghanaians to reject apathy and take an active role in shaping the country’s future. “Vote. Do not sit at home and expect others to make the right choice for you. Your voice is important,” he stressed. He also encouraged voters to mobilise their families, friends, and neighbours, saying, “We must all work together to support Ghana.”
He concluded with a strong endorsement of Dr. Bawumia, urging Ghanaians to safeguard the nation’s progress by voting for the NPP. “Mahama has nothing to lose, but we have everything to lose if we let him return to power. Let us secure our future and ensure Ghana’s ongoing prosperity,” he stated.
