The delegation was led by the former President of the Federal Republic Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan.

The Forum since 2020, has been working to help prevent conflict arising mainly from elections in the subregion.

Mr Mahama who shared photos of his engagements with the delegation said, "This initiative is commendable and very useful, and I had the privilege of leading the Forum’s mission to the recent Nigerian election."

He said the presence of the delegation in Ghana is "very timely and crucial, with barely 60 days to the election."

For the NDC leader, "We all want a peaceful election, but a peaceful election is predicated on the groundwork and the preparation that is done before the election," adding "If we get everything right in the lead-up, the election will be peaceful and successful."

Mr Mahama pledged the unwavering commitment of the NDC to a peaceful election.
