Dzifa Ativor fails bid to lead NDC in Volta Region

Former Transport Minister, Aku Dzifa Ativor has failed in her bid to lead the National Democratic Congress(NDC) as the Volta Regional Chairperson.

Delegates who voted in the elections conducted on Saturday rejected Dzifa Ativor who had been tipped to overthrow the incumbent chairman, John Kwadjo Gyapong.

Gyapong was rather retained with 491 votes as against that of Ativor's 374 votes.

A total of 54 persons filed papers to contest various regional executive positions of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region.

The positions of the treasurer and communications officer were declared unopposed as it was only an industrialist, Mr Daniel Agboka-Dzegede, who filed for the post of treasurer and Mr Kafui Agbleze for the post of communications officer.
