“Stop the name-callings and insults to make the unity and peace in the party remain stronger after the election,” Mr Lamptey urged.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Winneba, the aspirant asked other contestants to be careful so as not to sacrifice the party’s vision on the altar of the elections.

“Let us make the forthcoming constituency, regional and national elections unite the party that we love rather than to divide it.

“To make that happens; we the aspirants must conduct peaceful campaigns based on issues and not on personalities.”

Mr Lamptey appealed to the aspirants to learn from the mistakes made by those in the New Patriotic Party.

He said the NDC was faced with herculean challenges in 2013 which retarded development and expressed the hope that the problems would be things of the past in 2014.

He urged Ghanaians to think about things they could do to enhance national development.

He appealed to workers to do away with strikes and consider the level of the nation’s economy before making demands for salary increases.
