The council, led by the Krontihene and Hiahene of the Mampong Traditional Area, Nana Odeasempa Antwi, said the President’s nomination puts to rest all the speculations about who would assume the position.
Nana Antwi said it was unfortunate that in certain areas, the nomination made by the President was met with stiff opposition and sometimes violence.
He, therefore, appealed to assembly members taking part in the voting process to conduct their activities in a peaceful manner, adding that anything that would mar the peace of the traditional area should be avoided.
That, he said, was because anyone who would be elected would be coming with one objective, to develop the area.
Nana Antwi said infrastructure for hospitals, police personnel, schools and markets needed the necessary attention.
For his part, Alhaji Bawa disclosed that before his nomination, a lot of consultations and background checks were made, since the MCE was the figurehead of the President in the area.
According to him, the President would not nominate anyone that would bring the name of his administration into disrepute.
He urged Ejuraman to help him to succeed when confirmed by the assembly.
The essence of that, he said, was to bring development on the doorsteps of all Ghanaians.
