Elect Nduom as President
The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has called on Ghanaians to elect Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom as President on December 7, 2016 in order to end the endemic corruption plaguing the nation, since he is incorruptible.
The National Chairman of the party, Nii Allotey Brew-Hammond, made the call through the Daily Graphic at Akyem Oda.

He claimed: “Currently, out of the seven presidential aspirants, only Dr Nduom has displayed and exhibited leadership qualities that will not be corrupted in the high office of the President of the Republic of Ghana.”
He said in order to eradicate corruption form the Ghanaian society, the PPP government led by Dr Nduom would separate the Attorney-General’s (AG) Department from the Ministry of Justice, so that the A-G would be an independent prosecutor free to chase after corruption in government.
Nii Brew-Hammond said a PPP government would ensure the election of metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) to enhance good governance.
He described the current local government system under which the ruling government appointed MMDCEs as a sham which did not benefit Ghanaians.
According to Nii Brew-Hammond, both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would not encourage the election of MMDCEs because they wanted to control the common fund through their cronies, who were the MMDCEs.
He emphasised that good governance would not be complete until the legislature was separated from the executive.

Nii Brew-Hammond said a PPP government led by Dr Nduom would ensure that a Member of Parliament (MP) did not burden himself/herself with ministerial appointment as demanded by the Constitution.
He said a PPP government would, therefore, amend the Constitution so that MPs would not be appointed ministers.
