Election 2024: Christian Council urges security agencies to uphold professionalism and impartiality
The Eminent Persons Group of the Christian Council of Ghana has called on security agencies to demonstrate professionalism and impartiality in the upcoming December 7 elections.
The group, composed of both Christian and Muslim leaders, emphasized that the integrity of the electoral process largely depends on the conduct of the security forces.

Speaking to the media, Co-Chair of the Eminent Persons Group, Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo stressed that the role of the security agencies in ensuring a peaceful and fair election is essential for maintaining the credibility and transparency of the election results.
”The Eminent Persons Group call upon the Ghana police service and all state security agencies to maintain professionalism and neutrality during the election. Inspector general of police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has assured us of their commitment, impartiality and professionalism which we commend and Applaud. We expect this commitment to be reflected in their actions on voting day and beyond."
Dr. Boafo added, “The police must ensure that every citizen is able to exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation. The success of our electoral process depends on the commitment of our security personnel to uphold the law fairly.”
